Did you know that the ownership of media houses can affect its content or layout? For example, FOX is owned by a Republican, therefore, it broadcasts all the positives about?...Republicans! (You are correct!) Also many conservatives and Republicans work at FOX News Channel. Most of their News anchors previously worked with another nm=media outlet connected FOX. This channel broadcasts a lot of slander and propaganda. There are also few women workers in their broadcasts system. (Does this sound fair to you?) They sometimes ridicule people (protesters mainly.)One example, during 2004 Republican National Convention, Bill O'Reilly referred to some of the protesters as' terrorists.' FOX is also known for photo manipulation as well, where they take real photos and adjust them to suit their liking or their story. Hmm?
CNN has its own biases. It broadcasts news mainly about Republicans. It tends to leave out pictures of interest to the public. It clearly showed leniency to the Bush administration after the September 11 attack. Their news is too 'edited' to hide complete stories. Rick Kaplan served as president of CNN from 1997-2000.He's believed to be a personal friend of Bill Clinton, who was the President of the USA during Kaplan's tenure. (So... just as I imagined; bias again). Could this one of the reasons CNN's coverage on the Lewinsky/Clinton's scandal so insufficient and biased? Some reporters are openly biased as they interject their own opinions in broadcasts. The reporters can also be very controversial. One reporter called Jimmy Carter 'a waste of skin." This said reporter called the people who stayed in New Orleans during hurricane Katrina "scumbags". Huh? Yep, he did. How insensitive?!
January 2007, CNN used the name of the next President of the United States, oops!, I meant, Senator Barack Obama as a caption on a story about Osama Bin Laden! (Was this a 'mistake' or was it purposefully done? ) November 2005 CNN flashed a large 'X' over VP Dick Cheney's face during a speech that was aired live on CNN. They apologized claiming that it was a technical glitch. Really now. New York Times claimed that someone was fired from the operations room for the 'glitch.' Please! Can American mainstream media outlets be any more biased than this? I get annoyed at times when I try to view what's happening in this country on the News because I can't trust them most times. These American media outlets also relish in airing 'good' about America and oftentimes tarnished News about other countries.
Other international media outlets such as BBC and Corriere Della tend to be a little more fair in their broadcasts. BBC is privately owned and is funded by the license fee that is paid by UK households. It is governed by the BBC Trust, which represents the interests of licenses fee payers and sets the overall strategy. It's contents, layout, etc, is free from government intervention. The people have a say in what is aired. They try to air news which concern their audience. They also offer choices to their audience. These other international media outlets are more interested in informing and educating their audience about what affects them (the public) and their needs rather than highlighting propaganda and bias like the American media outlets. Is there a possibility that we could boycott these biased misleading media outlets in America? ( As if they would care about the few of us who decide to.)
