CELL PHONE Dilemma

Have we allowed the use of cell phones to consume us? Were we surviving before the invention of cell phones? Guys, come on. You know what I mean.I do agree that a cell phone can be important for hosts of reasons but not 24/7 usage! Please! Stop for a mere minute and take note of the vast number of persons you notice daily texting or conversing (with cell phones), on the bus, the train, on the streets or while driving!
There is a next trend too where students will be texting during class sessions. Are they texting stuff about the subject being taught? Well, if yes, fine. If the phone is placed on vibrate; some will vibrate ever so often during the most inconvenient times and sometimes oh so often.((((()))). Some folks continiuosly search their phone to check if they are missing a call (during a class or a meeting, etcetera). There is another obvious habit I have seen where some of us hastingly rush from a meeting, class, ceremony as if there 's an emergency, just to check cell for a missed call or missed text! Come on! This is ridiculous.
The use of cell phones has put some of us out of touch with each other in a genuine manner. Due to the fact that we can text or have easy access to call (or receive) with cell; we hardly vist each other or dialogue face -to-face. What are we doing to ourselves? Could we save our ears and our finger tips some of the pain? Some of us will sooner or later suffer from 'over-flattened' finger tips from over texting. I think this cell phone dilemma/craze is also preventing some of us from reading valuable forms of print media; as some people are so engulfed in reading cell phone texts.
My next discourse is with the abusive use of the cells at a certain volume; especially in public places. Some people talk way too loudly on the train, the bus, in an office, etcetera, while on their cell phones. Do you necessarily have to shout while talking on the cell? Can't th eother party on th eother end of th ecall hear? Honestly, no one wants to hear the conversation. At least show a little courtesy.
I can understand that some persons may have be certain situations where thay have to keep in touch with their children, other family memebers, or partners at certain occasions but we must control our use of the cell phones and NOT allow the CELL phones to CONTROL us. Afterall, someone will tend to the 'emergency' even if you did not get the call or the text. What's your take?
