Cancer Hub

Achoo! Achoo! Ahem!Cough Cough! Why is it smokers tend to just decide to smoke everywhere? Really now, not all beings can tolerate cigarettes and what ever else smokers smoke. There a particular area at the particular university that I attend which I termed the 'Cancer Hub'.Reason being is that this area is ALWAYS packed with young and old folks just smoking their lives away. Okay, fine if you choose to die this way or 'destress' this way but what about those who have to use the area for other reasons.
This is such a wonder place where students can sit and study or should be able to wait in 'fresh' air for the start of class. People come on, no one is telling you how not to harm your health, but this area is central and could be easily termed a passage way where students and tutors use to get to and from classes. Yea, go ahead and tell me to choose another route. I really wish I could, even better, I wish I could fly!
Seriously now, some folks are affected with asthma, sinusitis or other illnesses which are easily affected by the smell of smoke. I am not sure if this area is a designated smoking area ( if it is, pardon me). If it is not, then I pray that the proper authority one day soon do something about this. It's very unhealthy and also promotes some aspects of slackness. Is that smokers will die if they don't get a regular dose of smoking each hour or so? I am only curious because at the rate I see some smokers do it; it appears as if they will die without! Smoking kills! Yes, it does. Do not give that crap about; 'oh yea, I am gonna die anyway.' Why die any faster? or live unhealthily when you have the choice to be clean and fit.
I wish you all the best if you decide not to stop but in the meantime I will try to see how best I can survive while going through this 'CANCER hub'.Also, This smoking trend appears to me to be a fashion statement these days. Many young people are just doing it like the other favorite and best thing (s..).The second some folks leave a class session, library or wherever, they just pop one in one. Is it an addiction or just style? I don't want to be addicted to anything and I am happy I am not too into fashion. No, I am NOT perfect or anything near to that but I like it when humans take care of their bodies and their environment. Is that too much to ask? I wish we could all come together and close down all the 'cancer hubs'.
Here is a short story which is true. I used to visit a particularly health center in Decatur quite often and there is an old man I often see outside smoking. He always stood in front of the building with the big sign that says, 'Cancer Society and Treatment.'(coincidence, huh) Then, I realized that he was actually going there for treatment each time I see him! Maybe his cancer was not from smoking but at least he could try to limit the chances? What's your take?
